Her name is Mouteti Mabiala Ordela, an indigenous girl from the village of Salambama in the Zanaga district.
She received her Certificate of Primary and Elementary Studies (CEPE) in 2020 at the age of 11, which is very rare among indigenous people. Unfortunately, the nearest secondary school is 30 km from her village.
Given her age, Ordela cannot rent a house in a village on her own, and even if she could, her parents are poor and cannot pay for her education outside their village.
This year, when she should be in high school, Ordela did not go to school.
We sent a member of our team to her village to talk to the parents to see what can be done to ensure that she has access to school next year.
The only option is to find a host family in a village that has a secondary school or a town.
The director of the elementary school in her village says that Ordela is a very bright girl. The only thing missing is the opportunity to have the same chances of success as other children.
We want to give Ordela a chance next year. While waiting for the construction of our boarding school in Sibiti for indigenous children, we are looking for a host family for her to give her the opportunity to continue her studies. We are also looking for a reliable partner to finance her education next year.
Please call us if you can help.
