Frederick Douglass once said: “It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men”. To eliminate the culture of apathy and passivity in this community we think it is important to start from the bottom up. To start with the young and build new habits, new paradigms, new perceptions, and new culture.
True to that belief, Espace OPOKO has established a Computer training center to enable students who have dropped out of school to learn about computers and allow them to find a Job after training.
The center has trained today:
5 young people who currently work for the center. There are three girls and two boys.
4 young people who have completed their training including 2 who have already found jobs
7 others are in training.
The short-term goal of ESPACE OPOKO is to find more computers to train more young people.
