Living only from hunting, fishing and gathering, indigenous people are always confronted with the problems of parasitic intestinal worms.

A phenomenon that causes stomach aches, itching, slows the growth of children, weakens them and leads to dangerous anemia.
In 2016, we lost a 5-year-old child in the indigenous community of Bambama. During the cleaning of the body, the parents were surprised to see 2 intestinal worms coming out of the child’s belly. Knowing that the child had been complaining of stomach ache for several days and that the parents could not afford to take the child to the hospital, the community concluded that the death was caused by intestinal worms.

Recognizing the seriousness of the problem in the poorest areas, the World Health Organization recommends the initiation of de-worming programs.
Thus, we plan to launch a large-scale deworming campaign to not only give the products to the families, but also to sensitize them on the importance of hygiene in order to prevent further deaths.

For this project, we need $3000.
