To date, no indigenous people in the Bambama district have a paid job, and none have ever work for the government.

One of our greatest challenges remains the creation of role models in indigenous communities that others can follow.
That is why, in order to meet this challenge, in 2019 two indigenous high school students passed the competition to enter the National School of Water and Forests.
This school trains public service executives who will work in environmental protection.
If they successfully complete their training, Dorile and Vanessa will be the first indigenous people in the history of their community to work in the public service.
